Model City Council

Siklab Pilipinas

The Model City Council (MCC) is the flagship youth development program of Siklab Pilipinas. It is a social venture that aims to foster the value of civic engagement, discourse, and social responsibility among the Filipino youth, especially the highly marginalized. Through a simplified model that promotes genuine youth involvement and leadership through a participatory approach to policy-making, the model provides participants the unique opportunity to engage in discourse that directly affects them as members of society, and provides them the unique opportunity to propose solutions to these problems through a tie-up with their local government. The project is implemented through a specialized, annual conference facilitated by a partner institution in each of our host communities.
