Brief Description
The current health crisis affects everyone, especially those that belong to the urban poor sectors of the society. They are the most susceptible to getting infected because many of them are either unaware of how to protect themselves properly, simply not practicing recommended health measures. In addition, they usually reside in congested houses which increases the risk for higher rates of infection in their families. Mask4AllPH initiative will provide an economic opportunity by establishing and/or tapping sewing hubs in urban poor communities as a form of livelihood. 2,000 washable face mask packs (20,000 individual face masks) will be produced by at least 50 sewers nationwide, and under this initiative the same facemasks will be distributed among select 2,000 poor families.
