Brief Description
FH works with several government agencies (e.g., Bureau of Fire Protection) to conduct workshops on the following topics critical for disaster preparedness and emergency response interventions: - Conducting Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment (RDANA) - Child protection and anti-gender-based violence training - Basic first-aid and basic life support for barangay disaster response teams - Provision of and training on community-based early warning systems FH also provides its partner communities with Early Warning Systems (EWS). These are tools, practices, and plans that enable communities to readily respond to emergencies and natural disasters. This effort includes flood gauges, CCTV cameras, and sirens. They also upgraded existing public address systems in some barangays. These provide information that help leaders and families make informed decisions such as when to evacuate or what to prepare for specifically.
