Brief Description
The Project will construct up to 533 classrooms and 5 ALS-EST Learning Centers buildings. About 112 of this will be constructed in the areas affected by Typhoon Bopha in December 2012, 107 in the ARMM and the rest are in the Basic Education Sector Trans-formation (BEST Program) target regions, including the areas damaged by Typhoon Haiyan. The project activity also has capacity building component to improve school-based management of schools officials and encourage strong school-community collaboration particularly on classroom maintenance. The 5 ALS-EST Learning Centers will be constructed in host Senior High Schools in the BEST priority regions in Region V.VI,VII and X. This selection of the specific sites (province, municipality) will be informed by the results of the Labor Market Study that will be conducted.
